THE POWER MAP / REVIEWED OCTOBER 28, 2026

THE LINKS.
THE LIMITS.

We oppose the DSA's socialist program, communist dictatorship, fascism, political intimidation and terrorism. Our warning is about methods: concentrating economic power and disrupting opponents deserve scrutiny wherever they appear. Every arrow below names what the record actually proves.

DOCUMENTED TIE POLICY OVERLAP NO DIRECT TIE SHOWN
01 / ELECTORAL ROUTE

HOW A SOCIALIST PROGRAM REACHES A BALLOT.

ORGANIZATION

DSA

Its constitution rejects an economy organized around private profit and calls for popular control of resources and production. Its 2026 program calls for public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries. [01][02]

ELECTORAL TACTIC

DEMOCRATIC BALLOT LINES

DSA says it generally runs candidates on Democratic ballot lines while seeking an independent socialist party. This is an electoral relationship, not proof that every Democrat is a socialist or that DSA controls the party. [03][04]

POLICY TEST

VOTES, BUDGETS, LAWS

Judge each officeholder by an actual endorsement, vote, proposal or enacted measure. Our campaign ledger and program response keep those records separate.

OUR VIEW: Voters should know when an elected official advances a program that would replace private ownership with public control. A ballot label alone cannot establish that position.

02 / THE PLAYBOOK TEST

WHERE THE METHODS OVERLAP.

ECONOMIC POWER

WHO CONTROLS PRODUCTION?

DSA proposes public ownership of major corporations and essential industries. Lenin's 1918 Soviet constitution called for converting factories and other production into public property; Stalin's 1936 constitution made socialist ownership and state planning the economic foundation. Amnesty describes deep state control under Castro. We oppose DSA's move toward public control and cite those regimes as warnings about where concentrated power can lead. The scale and governing systems are different. [02][16][17][18]

POLITICAL POWER

WHO CAN OPPOSE THE STATE?

Lenin's founding constitution called for suppressing “exploiters” and disarming propertied classes. Nazi and Italian fascist movements attacked opponents and built dictatorships. The DSA uses elections; these sources do not show it commands a one-party state. Our criticism is of its stated program and the risks of expanding political control over economic life, not a claim that today's ballot campaigns are those regimes. [16][09][10][19][03]

STREET POWER

WHEN DISRUPTION BECOMES VIOLENCE.

The Nazi Brownshirts intimidated and attacked political opponents. DSA's 2019 resolution calls for disrupting fascist organizing and coordinating with antifascist groups. In 2026, a North Texas group described by prosecutors as an Antifa cell received convictions and sentences for an armed attack. We condemn intimidation and violence under any banner. The cited records do not show that DSA directed or funded that attack. [09][05][15]

03 / FOLLOW THE MONEY

A REAL GRANT. A REAL LIMIT.

501(c)(3) EDUCATION NONPROFITDSA FUND

Its 2024 Form 990 reports $399,886 in revenue. The Fund describes its mission as political education and says it does not intervene in candidate campaigns. [07][08]

$12,0002024 REPORTED GRANT →
501(c)(4) SOCIAL WELFARE GROUPDSA INC.

Schedule I of the Fund's 2024 filing lists a $12,000 grant to DSA Inc. That establishes a reported transfer; it does not establish campaign spending or financing of violence. [07]

DSA's own 2021 financial report described dues as its dominant income source at that time. That older mix is not a 2026 donor list. A Form 990 contribution total is also not a list of named funders; donor identity and ultimate source may require more records. [14]

04 / DO NOT FUSE THE NODES

SAME WORDS ARE NOT THE SAME ORGANIZATION.

POLICY OVERLAP

SOCIALISM ↔ COMMUNISM

DSA openly identifies as socialist and calls for public ownership and economic planning. Those mechanisms invite comparison with communist systems. They do not, by themselves, make DSA a communist party or prove support for one-party rule. [01][02]

STATED COALITION / IDEOLOGY

DSA AND ANTIFA

In 2017, DSA's national leadership described Antifa among its Charlottesville “comrades” and called for left unity after a white supremacist attack. Its 2019 resolution called for a national working group to disrupt fascist organizing and coordinate with antifascist groups. These are the DSA's own words showing coalition and shared antifascist aims. They do not establish a single Antifa command structure or DSA responsibility for later attacks. [20][05][06]

HISTORICAL OPPONENTS

BROWNSHIRTS / BLACKSHIRTS

The Nazi SA were Brownshirts; Mussolini's fascist supporters were Blackshirts. The Holocaust Museum identifies Nazism as far-right, racist and anti-Marxist. These were violent historical movements, not branches of DSA or the Democratic Party. [09][10][11]

NO FUNDING TIE ESTABLISHED

HAMAS / TERROR NETWORKS

DSA's 2026 program calls for ending U.S. aid to Israel; we strongly oppose that position. Treasury documents actual Hamas-linked nonprofit funding networks, but the reviewed sanctions record does not identify DSA or the Democratic Party as funders. DSA's October 2023 statement also condemned killing civilians. Policy criticism is not proof of material support. [02][12][13]

TACTICS TEST / DOCUMENTED CASE

THE FASCIST PLAYBOOK: INTIMIDATION.

The Nazi SA used street violence to silence political opponents. In a separate modern case, the Justice Department reported June 2026 convictions and sentences for members of a North Texas group it called an Antifa cell after an armed attack on an ICE facility; one defendant was convicted of attempting to murder an officer. Our judgment is that armed political coercion echoes that historical tactic, regardless of the attacker's ideology. DSA's 2019 resolution to coordinate antifascist work is a documented organizational choice, but these records do not connect DSA to the Texas attack. [09][15][05]

05 / APPEARANCES & CLAIMS

WHO MET WHOM. WHO SAID WHAT.

We oppose Islamist violence and antisemitism without assigning another person's words to every politician who shared a room. These are direct records and the limits of each claimed connection.

MAMDANI · FEBRUARY 20, 2026

THE AL-KHOEI SERVICE

MEMRI's video excerpt shows the mayor speaking at the Queens center during a service with a prayer it translates as invoking the Mahdi and killing unbelievers by his sword. The wording deserves scrutiny. It is an end-times supplication, not an instruction from Mamdani to attack anyone. His spokesman later rejected Sheikh Fadhel Al-Sahlani's earlier Holocaust and Hamas remarks as contrary to the mayor's values; that response did not address the prayer. [30][32]

LANDER · MAY 15, 2026

THE LATER PRAYER

At the same center, Brad Lander said he hoped to work in Congress with Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar as he had with Mamdani. A prayer MEMRI describes as invoking the Mahdi followed his remarks. The source does not show Tlaib or Omar present, endorsing that prayer, or connected to its speaker. [31]

EL-SAYED · VERIFIED LIMIT

THE BROTHERHOOD CLAIM

We challenge Abdul El-Sayed's health-care and tax platform. Bridge Michigan found no evidence that he pledged support to or had ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. Claims about a relative's past organizational roles do not establish his own affiliation. [33]

A DIFFERENT RECORD

Sen. John Fetterman's own 2026 statement calls for action against Hamas and Hezbollah leaders and criticizes Iran's support for proxies. He also rejects switching parties. A party label is not evidence of anyone's position; we judge each person's record. [34]

SAME TACTIC? NAME THE EVENT.

Blockades, attacks on officers, and assaults on political opponents are documented in several places. Each file below names the date, conduct, and evidence status. A tactic can recur across countries without a common organizer or identical political goal.

FRANCE · SEPTEMBER 2025

ROAD BLOCKADES

During “Bloquons tout,” the Gendarmerie counted 253 blockades, 512 road fires, and 23 officers with minor injuries among a reported 197,000 participants. The national totals do not identify every actor or link the movement to DSA. [22]

STATUS: GENDARMERIE EVENT REPORT
UNITED KINGDOM · AUGUST 2024

AIRPORT DISRUPTION PLAN

Four Just Stop Oil activists were later convicted of conspiring to cause a public nuisance after planning to glue themselves to Manchester Airport taxiways. This is a documented disruption tactic, not a finding of violence or an Antifa connection. [23]

STATUS: CONVICTIONS / MAY 2025
ITALY · JANUARY 2025

ROME STREET CLASH

Italian police reported nine officers injured after explosives and objects were thrown at a Rome demonstration whose conveners included antifascist groups. Police referred 39 people for potential charges. The cited report is an investigation account, not a conviction of each person or group. [24]

STATUS: POLICE REPORT / ALLEGATIONS
GERMANY · NOVEMBER 2025

ANTIFA-OST NETWORK

Germany's Interior Ministry described Antifa-Ost as a left-extremist network and attributed assaults on people viewed as far right to members. It said leading or especially violent members had been convicted or detained. The statement does not connect that network to DSA. [25]

STATUS: GOVERNMENT ASSESSMENT
PORTLAND · MAY 2020

JUSTICE CENTER ARSON

A federal court sentenced a man who pleaded guilty to arson during protests following George Floyd's killing. The conviction establishes his act; the Justice Department record does not identify him as acting for DSA, Antifa, or a Black Lives Matter organization. [26]

STATUS: GUILTY PLEA / SENTENCE
SEATTLE · JULY 2020

OFFICERS INJURED

Seattle police reported 12 officers injured and property damage during a demonstration; its account distinguishes an earlier peaceful gathering from a later group that caused damage. A city review cites national evidence that most 2020 demonstrations were peaceful, while some escalated. Neither record assigns the July violence to DSA or a BLM organization. [27][28]

STATUS: POLICE REPORT / CITY REVIEW
TEXAS · JULY 2025

ANTI-ICE ARMED ATTACK

The Justice Department reported convictions and June 2026 sentences for members of a North Texas group prosecutors called an Antifa cell after an attack on an ICE facility. DSA's 2026 program separately calls for ending ICE detention and deportations. Shared policy opposition does not establish that DSA authorized this attack. [15][02]

STATUS: CONVICTIONS / SENTENCES

BLACK LIVES MATTER: DSA's own history says a number of chapters supported the movement. That stated support does not assign every crime committed near a 2020 protest to the movement or DSA. [21][28]

ICE AND THE LAW: ICE enforces federal immigration law. Removability depends on a person's legal circumstances, and ordinary removal proceedings include opportunities to contest charges or seek relief; expedited removal has different protections. We oppose attacks on agents while keeping those legal distinctions intact. [29]
